Have you ever wondered how hunting ammunition can be made more eco-friendly without compromising performance? The Green Core wad line is an eco-friendly innovation by B&P designed to give an ecological alternative to the traditional plastic wads while ensuring top ballistic performances.
The Key Features of the Green Core
- Biodegradable material: Made from a special “green” polymer, the Green Core wad expands elastically to seal propellant gases more effectively than traditional plastics, producing denser, more uniform shot patterns.
- Barrel protection: Its reinforced petals completely isolate the shot from the barrel, preventing wear and allowing safe use with hard pellets (tungsten, steel, copper).
- International rules: Meets CIP requirements and works with all types of hard or alternative shot materials.

The Green Core steel wad applications
A steel-type Green Core wad is used across several B&P product lines for any hard shot (tungsten, steel, copper):
- Privilege Game: Offers a container-wad version and a “Fiber” version with felt plus a Green Core gas-sealing cup. Both are fully biodegradable and provide excellent long-range patterns and perfect gas sealing.
- Dual Steel: Combines steel shot with the biodegradable Green Core steel wad, delivering eco-friendly performance and superior ballistics—tight, consistent patterns and slightly higher velocity for deeper penetration at distances up to 38–40 yards.
- Dual Shock: a line dedicated to the copper. It also uses the Green Core steel wad to protect the barrel and maintain tight, even shot distributions when using any type of hard pellet.
- Dual Bismuth: Dedicated to bismuth loads, a softer material than steel or copper. These shotshells feature two layers of different shot sizes to increase energy transfer. Depending on the version, they use either a steel wad or a felt wad + Green Core gas seal, offering strong patterns and reliable performance at medium distances.
In summary, the Green Core steel wad merges sustainability with advanced ballistics, offering perfect gas sealing, full barrel protection, and consistently precise patterns across multiple B&P cartridge lines.

Why Green Core is a sustainable choice? The material used to produce our Green Core wads is EN 13432 certified, a crucial certification that proves the material is both biodegradable and compostable. The term “compostable” means that a material not only breaks down naturally but does so within a relatively short period of time.
The decomposition residues of our Green Core wads do not harm flora or fauna. Choosing shotshells that use this material is a winning choice, delivering superior performance with a lower environmental impact.
